Spaghetti Activity:

  • Find your group using the letter on your index card.
  • With the materials you are given, answer the following driving question:

What is the relationship between the number of pieces of spaghetti and the number of washers they will hold?


  • Create a way to display your data and answer the question.
  • Identify the independent and dependent variables in this activity.
  • Plot and graph at least 3 different points.
  • Find the Relationships and Patterns Card (Concept Task Cards), and answer the questions with your group. Add these to the display.

EXPLAIN:
  • Describe the relationship to your peers.
  • Describe the standards that this activity speaks to- both content and process standards
ELABORATE:
  • Orange dots- Choose another Concept Task Card that relates to this activity and answer three to five questions from the card. Record this on your Spaghetti Activity chart paper.
  • Green dots- Choose a Depth and Complexity card that relates to this activity and create 3-5 questions relating to the card. Record this on your Spaghetti Activity chart paper.
